LONDON (AP) — World markets recovered most of their losses Tuesday as corporate dealmaking helped some investors look past Europe's government debt problems and uncertain prospects for U.S. economic growth.
After trading lower, Britain's FTSE 100 closed up 0.1 percent, at 5,578.44. Germany's DAX was than 0.1 percent lower at 6,276.37 while France's CAC-40 was down 0.1 percent at 3762.84.
Wall Street regained its poise after opening lower — the Dow industrials average was up 0.3 percent at 10,839.71 while the broader Standard & Poor's 500 was 0.2 percent higher at 1,144.31.
