Don't waste any more precious time trying to figure out why the Adirondack Red Wings are on the fairways now instead of the ice.

As sure as sunrise, the almighty law of averages did in the American Hockey League team, kept it from going any farther in its defense of the Calder Cup.
"I don't know what else we could have done," Adirondack coach Newell Brown said after his Wings peppered goalie George Maneluk with a team-record 63 shots Tuesday night and still lost the seventh and deciding game in their playoff series. "We played as well as we could."
