KDD Corp of Japan says that it has developed a secure credit card-based system which can be used for electronic commerce online. Details of the new offering are presently scarce although it is known that the IC-card provides for secure authentication of transactions. Japanese banks are likely to begin accepting this facility for transactions in the near future.
