Qld: Dairy farmers to milk votes

Disgruntled dairy farmers plan to run television and radio advertisements in over a
dozen seats during next year's Queensland election to point out policy flaws.

Australian Milk Producers Association spokesman SHANE PULGER says his organisation,
which supports re-regulation of the industry, will not be supporting individual candidates.

But instead will say the MPs concerned have let the dairy industry down.

A state election is due by May next year.

Mr PULGER says a substantial funds will be pumped into the campaign in around 18 seats
and will be repeated later in the year during the federal election.

The news comes as the coalition announced it will give dairy industry players a direct
say on government policy if elected next year.
