The implantation of VenPro Corp's venous valve bioprosthesis to replace a failed valve in the leg is being hailed by company President King Nelson as potentially a major step forward in the treatment of advanced chronic venous insufficiency (CVI).
The valve is made from a bovine jugular vein valve and mounted in a self-expanding stent. It is delivered percutaneously.
